Hallo Daniel, Het was een hele goeie avond vrijdag de laatste alweer dit seizoen. De combinatie met Kraayenhof was ook heel bijzonder. Je maakt altijd weer iets aparts ervan. Na de pauze was met name mooi maar ook het eerste stuk van Rossini maakte veel indruk. Je had het over een CD die uitkwam maar wanneer en wat staat daar dan op. groetjes en wellicht tot een ander seizoen Astrid en Pieter

I just arrived back home after 10 amazing days in Stellenbosch! I am still in some what of a trance after all the grate music! Your concert was definitely the high point. You have opened my mind to a point were anything can be possible when it comes to what you love to do. Giving new meaning to something that has almost been forgotten. The art of doing something the way you want to yet always staying in the boundaries of what really makes music “good music”! I heard some people say it was like a Rock concert at the end almost expecting you to smash your violin over the closest chair!? You blew our minds!

Hallo Daniel, Al een aantal jaren hebben wij jouw serie op vrijdagavond in de Beurs waar we ons altijd weer op verheugen. Ik vind dit nog steeds een van de toppertjes op vioolgebied, naast de KAM serie die we ook af en toe hebben. Ik sluit me aan bij de vorige mensen dat je ontzettend je ziel erin legt bij wat je doet en het niet plichtmatig afraffelt. Dat is vrij uniek. Ga je het volgend jaar anders doen vraag ik me af qua bezetting en programma. Misschien horen we het vrijdag. Zet je weleens iets op CD of wil je dat niet. Tot in de Beurs weer binnenkort.

Hi Daniel Attended the JSG in Dublin this evening. This was my third time attending and it was simply outstanding. It just seems to get better every year. Your solo on Zigeuenerweisen was worth the price of the ticket on it's own. I hope to see you soon in another context as I've only ever seen you lead the JSG. I will be in Italy when the BQ play Bologna in February but will probably not make it however I will be in Sicily in July and hope to see some of your performances there. Classical music is something I've only recently began to listen to in a serious way. after a long time exploring and enjoying many other genres of music and through your playing (and a boxed set of Von Karajan recordings!!) I am learning to appreciate it more and more. Best wishes for the rest of the year and I hope to see you performing again soon.

Last night I attended the Strauss Concert at the Glasgow Concert Hall and enjoyed it immensely. I saw you last year at the same venue and thought that was a wonderful performance but last night was even better. Hi Daniel, We are just home from the performance of Strictly Strauss at the Caird Hall here in Dundee. I have to say it is one of the most enjoyable nights I have had in a long time. Especially enjoyed your conducting and your playing of Zigeunerweisen, we had front row seats and were totally captivated by your playing and hope some day to see you play once again. What we did find funny was they way you totally shredded your bow and had to keep pulling hair off it. I am also writing this to ask if it would be possible to obtain your autograph somehow ? Dear Daniel I attended your Cape Town performance (9 September 2008) and returned home most satisfied with making the effort 100km through rain (from Worcester). I work for Stellenbosch University (medical campus, Tygerberg), and am sorry that I missed the Conserve performance (Endler Hall). It's a pity that the City Hall looks like an old hostel, all run down. You deserved a venue with much better class, to suit your music. Thank you for the most appropriate classical interpretation. I am a jazz musician and could already hear a jazz band accompanying you with the tango works. My wife and Dad-in-law accompanied me to your performance, and they are full of praise - basically, you are very good and represented the best classical gig that came our way this year. Ed and I thoroughly enjoyed learning from you - you totally transformed our sound and gave me in particular the confidence to try new sounds and effects on my Violin that I would have been too nervous to do before. Daer Mr. Rowland, I attended the Johann Strauss Gala at the Liverpool Philharmonic recently where you played a piece called Preludium und Allegro by Kreisler. I would like to get a CD of your violin playing containing this work? Is there one I can buy? I thought it the most beautiful piece of music and your playing of it very moving. Dear Daniel I wanted to try and personally thank you for how uplifting your violin recital made me feel last night. I know how much music can touch an individual but Id never felt that before, ever. I was totally inspired. Had the applause carried on forever, afterwards, I dont think it would have been enough, I think you must learn to enjoy that more! I also feel compelled to relay how much I adored your diction, manner and delivery between each symphony as your charismatic story telling had me spellbound. And as for the evening in full? It was one of the best nights out I have ever experienced EVER in my life. And Im a rock chick at heart!

Daniel, your beautiful violin had to wait almost 200 years to "hear" someone play as you do! I am glad I did not have to do that! I'm sure the composers listening up in heaven cannot wait to tell you that you play their music exactly as they intended! Please tell Daniel Rowland's parents they did NOT spend too much on his music lessons! And PLEASE come back to Stellenbosch next year!!

Hello Daniel, I couldn't resist looking up the Brodsky website after our little chat waiting for a taxi in Paris last Saturday night. Unfortunately the site was being updated but I managed to track you down. You probably don't remember so I will remind you: we are involved in the Clifden Arts Week festival in the west of Ireland and would love if you would be interested in a trip to Connemara in the future. I looked up your concert dates to see if you are due to play again in Ireland and once again another coincidence - Uppsala - Sweden, a very good friend of mine from Clifden has just (last week) moved there so I'm going to text her to tell her to get tickets if she can. I believe in fate and so after being completely mortified when you kindly redirected me to the end of the taxi queue and (not the bus stop as I had thought) to then discover that you where living as a small child across the road from where I had just started school in Quex Rd - was quite extraordinary. So I think that it would be extra special to have you and the Brodskys here in Clifden one day. You could find this all a little strange and I completely understand but I've just heard some of the short download pieces of this site and saw the Brodsky video from the Galway Arts festival and I have to say I'm now lost for words.
